UnscrupulousUnscrupulous (The Manhattanites #2) by Avery Aster
* I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

At thirty-three, Warner Truman is one of the richest men on the planet, a spa mogul who buys and sells resorts at will. He holds powerful executives’ careers in his well-groomed hands. Nothing is beyond Warner’s reach…until he meets her.

Stunning, tantalizing and perverse, Taddy Brill captivates Warner’s carnal desire like no woman he’s ever met. A self-made millionaire, Taddy is tougher than steel, more brilliant than diamonds and, at twenty-seven, she’s never depended on a man for anything…until she meets him.

The more Taddy plays with Warner’s affections, driving him to erotic heights, the more she is confronted by a dark past. Before she can love him, Taddy must meet her worst fears head-on or risk losing it all, including herself.

Taddy Brill is the owner of Brill Inc, a profitable PR firm in New York.  Her family is her lifelong friends from boarding school.  They have a special bond that has carried them through the years and she relies on their support.  While on holiday with Vive and Lex, Taddy meets the man of her dreams but things don’t turn out as planned.  Months later, they reconnect under the unusual circumstances and pick up right where they left off.

Warner is a very private person that has worked had to propel his resort business to the top.  Not only did he catch his ex-finance with his brother but she was lying about being pregnant.  He is determined to make his business a success but his priorities change during a chance encounter on New Year’s Eve.  Now, if he can only find his vajazzeled Red again, he plans to never let her go.

I have been intrigued with Taddy since we first met her in Undressed.  She is a smart, sexy business woman that is self-made.  She has the best friends in the world that she considers her family and couldn’t have survived her teen years without them.  Her relationship with her parents is non-existent and when she gets a call from her mother out of the blue, she is shocked by her offer.

Taddy is a very complicated person that has her own demons to battle.   They cause her to keep people at arm’s length, it’s the only way she can protect herself and keep people from hurting her.  The only people she lets in are her best friends but they can’t fill all the voids in her life.  When she meets Warner, there is something about him that instantly draws her to him.  She begins to open up and let him in and in the meantime she learns that is it ok to let go once in a while.

The story is full of interesting characters and exotic locales.  I loved seeing Lex and Vive again the little hints that have been dropped about Taddy’s parentage make me wonder who her father is.  I hope in the next book we find out more about that story, along with an update on her mom.  I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series.

Overall I loved this Unscrupulous and give it 4 Flaming Hearts.           4 Hearts

spentSpent, Miss Chatterley #4 by Logan Belle
* I received this ARC free from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review*

Connie would do anything to repair the damage done by her affair with Mellors and go back to the way things were with Cliff. But with the truth of her betrayal exposed, and Ivy and Dukes exploiting the breakup, Cliff is driven to cast out Connie—and sell out to Silicon Valley. Is it really too late for a happily ever after with Cliff? Connie’s next move could change everything in this shocking finale.

Connie has been unhappy for a while because of everything going on since they moved to California but with the help of her sister, things are changing between her and Cliff.  Cliff realizes that he is losing Connie and is willing to do anything to save their relationship.  She is still attracted to Mellors but it’s purely sexual, she enjoys the thrill he provides.  She knows that she has to end things with Mellors or she will lose everything that she has ever wanted.

In the final installment, Connie has made her decision and is going to set things straight with Mellors.  What she doesn’t realize is that things have been set in motion by Ivy and Dukes that will change her life forever.  Things are quickly going downhill and he does the only thing she can, she moves back to New York.  As she settles down to her new life, she gets a surprise visitor that gives her a new lease on life.

I loved this installment and was so glad to see what happened with Ivy and Dukes.  Connie’s sister rocks and with the help of Cliff’s friend, they find a way to show Cliff that not everyone in his life has his best interest at heart.  Cliff totally surprised me at the end with his decision and it made me love him that much more.  He may be a computer geek but he is a true romantic at heart.

This installment was literally an emotional rollercoaster.  I didn’t know what was going to happen next and a couple times I had to put the book down to take a breath.  I loved that the book had all of the characters from the earlier installments in it, it was nice to see Connie’s sister find happiness too.

Overall this was my favorite installment in the series and a perfect ending to it.  I give Miss Chatterley Part IV: Spent 4 Flaming Hearts.  4 Hearts

Surprised by Cliff’s sudden attention, Connie is caught between the life she always wanted and the passion she never knew she needed. Luckily, Connie’s wild, older sister Hillary comes to town to talk some sense into her—don’t throw away your future for a passing fling. But can Connie forgo the ecstasy of Mellors’s touch for a future with Cliff? Will Cliff be too distracted with the IPO to realize what’s at stake?

Connie continues to struggle with her feelings for Cliff and her attraction to Mellors.   She intends to end it with Mellors but she can’t fight her attraction to him.  On a weekend getaway, Cliff offers her the life she has always wanted with him but guilt gets in the way.

Connie knows that her relationship with Mellors is wrong but she is drawn to him but she just can’t walk away.  After nearly getting caught, she realizes just what is really at stake and decides to make the needed changes in her life.  Unfortunately, Mellors is out when she visits him to tell him it’s over.

Cliff has realized that he is going to lose Connie if he doesn’t change the way things are between them.  He plans a romantic evening for the two of them but things don’t go as planned.  He knows that she still loves him but that she is very unhappy there.  With the help of her sister, they set a plan in motion that is sure to make things better between them.

After losing her job, Connie’s sister Hillary shows up in California with a mission.  She is determined that Connie isn’t going to go through what she just did.  While she is staying with them, Cliff hires her to do some consulting work at Chatterbox, she doesn’t realize that it could lead to a love connection for her.

Ivy and Dukes are still up to no good and determined to get Cliff to go public.  Dukes employee’s Ivy’s help to do get dirt on Connie and her sister using whatever means necessary, to get them out of the picture.  Ivy’s greed is really showing and she will do whatever Dukes asks her to do.

This was the best one yet and I can’t wait to share the final installment with you.  I really enjoyed Miss Chatterley Part III: Torn and give it 3 ½ Flaming Hearts.  3.5 Hearts
